Kent Mathes-Kent
has been singing southern gospel music for more than 25 years.
There is no doubt of the calling God has placed on his life. Kent
has a passion for sharing the Gospel through singing. His
voice is one of the most resonant, low, and smooth voices you will
ever hear. He has sang professionally with the "Fox
Brothers" from Nashville, TN. He and his wife, Sally, founded
Crimson Gold (originally named "Home Land") in 1989.
They make their home in Iron Mountain, MO. They have two sons,
Andrew and Garrett.
Ray Reese-Ray
joined Crimson Gold in 1991. He has been involved in southern
gospel music for many years. Ray has one of the best tenor voices
in the industry. His high, clear tones are by far the most pleasing
tones you will ever hear. Ray has also answered the call to
preach, and is a
licensed minister. He has recently been ordained into the ministry through
his home church. Ray and his wife, Lorna, make their home in
Black, MO, with their two daughters, Madeline and Emma.
Andrew
Mathes-Even though
Andrew has been a part of Crimson Gold since its beginning back in
January 1989, he
officially joined the group as the drummer in September of 2001, at the
age of 13. Over the
years he has mastered his skills to become one of the finest drummers in
the industry. Andrew's commitment to God and to the ministry
is very evident in his playing. He is a 2006 Graduate of Bismarck High
School and has attended Mineral Area College. Andrew lives in Iron
Mountain, MO. UPDATE!!!! Andrew
and Trish were married in a beautiful ceremony on May 10, 2008 (see our
photo gallery for pictures).
They now live in Farmington, MO.
Steve Allbritton--In
2002 Crimson Gold was privileged to have the addition of one of
gospel music's best bass guitarists. He has
brought to the group not only a tremendous talent, but also a sincere
heart and love for God. Steve and his wife Karen make their home in Lowndes, MO.
They have four children, Jeremy, Megan, Casey, and Tracy, and one
granddaughter, Addyson.
Dave
Williford--When Dave
Williford joined Crimson Gold in August 2004, we knew we were getting an
excellent pianist, but little did we know what other talents he would
bring. In June 2005, on the way home from singing in Fort Scott,
KS, Dave played a c.d. for the group. When we asked who
it was that was singing, we found out he was the one. . . he was singing a song which he had
written a few years earlier. That song turned out to be our title
cut for our newest project and the theme song for our group. The song
title is "It's All About Jesus". Not
only can the man write songs, he can also sing! He has become a
crowd's favorite when he sings. He and his wife Becky also
have an evangelistic ministry. They live in Jefferson City, MO.
Alan Freeman-When
you hear the phrase, "it's been a long time coming" you know
it must mean that change is in the air for Crimson Gold. Alan
Freeman is coming on board as our new baritone vocalist. He has been
involved in Southern Gospel Music for many years. Some of his
previous quartets include "The Praisemen", "The Missouri
Boys", and most recently, "Master's Edition". Alan
is an accomplished songwriter and producer. He brings with
him an incredible flair of strength and talent, as well as
originality. Alan has a remarkable love for Christ,
and a genuine calling in the ministry of singing that God has placed on his life.
He and his wife, Dee, reside in Ellington,
MO. They have two grown children, Jared and Amanda.
Greg
Freeman-Several years
ago when Crimson Gold had a personnel change, Greg agreed to temporarily
'fill in' for us. The 'temporary' became a little more
than a year. Once again, we find our quartet going through
some changes, and this time Greg isn't 'filling in' temporarily.
He is now our new lead vocalist. From 1983-1985, Kent
and Greg sang together in a family group named 'The Gospel
Relatives'. Since that time, Greg has remained active in Southern
Gospel quartet music, and also in preaching the Gospel. Greg is a
licensed minister, and has recently been ordained into the ministry through
his home church. Greg, his wife April, and their sons, Logan,
Isaac, and DeAndre, make their
home in Black, MO. Oh, and by the way,
Greg and Alan are brothers, and also Kent's first cousins!!
